I have 4 pairs of 10 year old Birkie's, to say they've seen better days is an understatement. But they are sooooooooo comfortable! So, when my oldest nephew said he was getting married and it would be at a vineyard, I knew just the outfit to wear. Well, I couldn't wear my old Birkies, so I went searching, needless to say they no longer make my exact style anymore. Not happy about that, but what I did find, were these beautiful ones.I was hoping that the colors would ring true to the image and it does! You can wear these with all white, all black, a mixture of both (classic), with silver... it all works. And, the style is very similar to my old favorites. Awesome!
If you've never worn Birkenstock before, I suggest that you give your feet and the Birkenstock a 'breaking in' period. Though I've worn Birk's for 10 years, even I have to build up to wearing them all day.Some may not need to, but I always did, and this pair is no different so far. First day, I wore them around the house for an hour. That was a little long, so, for the last 2 days I've worn them 10 minutes at a time a couple times a day. So far, that seems to be doing the trick. I cannot wait until foot-bed is molded to my feet. Heaven!
And, I don't know if it was because the warehouse they were shipped from was only a few states away or what, but the shipping for me was a huge surprise! How? I ordered the sandals Thursday night, July 2nd, set up for Monday, July 6th delivery. I figured that would give me 20 days to hopefully break them in for the wedding. Imagine my surprise when I received them... Friday, July 3rd. WOW!
I'm just glad it will be a casual outside wedding at winery where I can wear comfortable shoes (these) and not have to wear high heels. Does not get better... beautiful and comfortable, at a wedding. Yeah!! :-)
